‘I was unsure what to expect when I first joined DB Consulting; I shouldn’t have worried however. In the four years I’ve been with the company I’ve been impressed by the way the company values and treats its employees, with the flexibility of the remuneration and benefits package, and with the other consultants and staff. Lots of companies claim to be ‘a people company’; four years on I believe DB Consulting actually is one.’
Phil – Senior Consultant
‘I have worked for DB Consulting for ten years and firmly believe that it provides a culture where employees are able to get back what they put into the company. If you are willing to work hard and put in extra effort then it is recognised and rewarded. Most consultants have their own areas of speciality, but are also able to perform a wide variety of roles both as an individual and as a team player. This means that the work often has a lot of variety, which helps to keep it challenging and interesting. It also means that you are generally free to progress your career in whatever direction you choose.’
Matt – Project Manager
‘Since joining DB Consulting I have worked on varied projects across multiple industries, all requiring flexibility, initiative, and commitment. Through these projects I have moved from System and Business Analyst roles to Project Manager, supporting my career objectives. I have undertaken assignments with the confidence of knowing there is support available from colleagues on site and back in the office. Cliché as it is, DB Consulting’s key assets are its employees, and the recruitment process ensures that a person’s character and motivations are as suitable and important as their IT skills and competencies. The working environment allows you to network and build relationships to support both your own development and that of the company.’
James – Business Analyst
‘Before joining DB Consulting I was at Southampton University studying Computer Science. From there I was looking to join a small to medium size software solutions company where individuals would not get lost in the shuffle. DB Consulting seemed to fit perfectly with that. Over the past three and a half years I have worked on a number of different projects including a two-year secondment to the Information Services division of an international charity with over 6000 staff. I now work on support and development for an enterprise system used by the country’s largest surveying company. DB Consulting has enabled me to progress in all of the skills required to become an effective consultant, including helping to progress to the level of Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist in the .NET Framework.’
Tim – Developer
‘Leaving university and starting in the real world of work is always a daunting prospect. Joining the
DB Consulting Graduate Scheme helped ease this transition, by providing a wide range of opportunities to help me learn new technologies and develop my key skills, whilst being offered continual support and guidance. For me, the primary benefit of working for DB Consulting has been the variety of work. During the last three years I have carried out a number of roles and enjoyed the constantly changing work environment and the opportunity to meet new people. There is no tedious daily work routine – which helps to keep me motivated. Overall I am thoroughly enjoying my time at DB Consulting.’
Adele – Developer
‘I remember reading the employee views section on the website prior to joining DB Consulting in late 2010 and thinking that it was exactly the kind of company I wanted to join. I did wonder if the reality could really live up to the words I read but it definitely does. I have felt very welcome, and the variety and flexibility of the work is great, it creates the kind of environment that you want to do your best in, to produce work that you can be proud of, while still being able to gain new skills or hone the ones you already have.’
