It’s natural to iterate

Agile refers to a lightweight approach to software development, incorporating iterative software development techniques to address the lack of flexibility inherent in traditional, rigid methods based on the ‘waterfall’ model.

Agile embraces a more fluid approach typified by frequent interaction between development team and business users. Agile teams acknowledge that requirements tend to evolve; an agile approach allows users to get their hands on a working application earlier, and accommodates users’ natural desire to improve ‘look and feel’ or enhance application functionality through the build stage.

DB Consulting is at the forefront of the take up of Agile, with a track record of helping customers accelerate delivery, reduce costs and improve quality. We offer project management experience, agile software development skills and a programme of sensibly paced training.

National Children’s Bureau

National Children’s Bureau is a charity supporting children, young people and those who work with them. NCB asked
DB Consulting to deliver an agile mentoring programme to introduce Agile to the internal IT team.

We initiated the engagement with our Agile Explore service,
a two day programme which helps organisations focus on the key principles of agile, the benefits and potential downsides/risks.

We followed up with Agile Quickstart, a five day programme focusing on the behaviours and processes needed to realise the benefits of Agile.

Chambers’s team had heard the ‘buzz’ around Agile and were keen to explore how an agile approach could help deliver a major overhaul of existing systems.

Combining our Agile Explore and Agile Quickstart services,
DB Consulting delivered a bespoke five day ‘Introducing Agile’ programme. Topics covered included agile project management, software development, testing and governance. The deliverable was an ‘Agile Road Map’, accelerating Chambers’s transition to a more agile way of working.
