SharePoint is a powerful end user tool which can help users realise substantial productivity gains.
SharePoint can also be very cost effective. Whilst costs need to be considered, SharePoint in cut-down form actually comes free with Microsoft Server 2003: this edition is called Windows SharePoint Services, or WSS.
Whilst WSS does not contain all the functionality of the full product Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS), it does contain a substantial subset that may provide all of the functionality many companies may need.
It is also true that implementing and configuring SharePoint need not be a long or expensive process. We have successfully completed a number of SharePoint implementations in a matter of days rather than weeks, leaving customers in a 'ready to go' state and self-sufficient going forward.
